3D sculpting, and 3D printing, can be vastly different at times.

Mainly because most home 3D printers will only print a single color, rock-hard statue made of plastic. Like a block of wood, not soft or flexible or transparent or finely detailed. 3D printed hair would be a mess with not much detail.

A video game model has flat painted-on details, faces, and soft clothes. The paint job on their face would not show up in a 3D printer.

Paintings can't be printed in 3D, because they are just flat drawings. There is nothing 3D about them. You can't 3D print a photograph or painting or a soft doll. It all converts to a somewhat-detailed block of wood with no color.

That's why 3D printing often incorporates arts and crafts. Adding fur, paint, wood glue, hinges, rope, pins, screws, and fine details.
We celebrate 3D printers, 3D printed objects, 3D printer tutorials, and models specifically created for 3D printing. We also support unique methods to modifying your 3D printer.
